I have been a believer and follower of Jesus Christ ever since I was born. I am a cradle Catholic. I was born into a Catholic family, I practiced my faith when I was a little child, and I have continued to do so throughout my adult life. I remember some things about growing up when I was very young while learning about my faith and living out my faith, but I remember more about each of these two areas from my college years up until now. If you would like to read more specific details about my being Christ-like and living out my faith, please visit www.yourwillbedone.life/about-this-site/toms-talk. It is my hope and prayer that you do the same and that you may inspire others to do the same also.
When I mention the word “Christ-like,” I do so because it is how I do my best with trying to live my life the ways in which Jesus Christ taught us. I am far from perfect. I sin (not intentionally) every day, I ask God’s forgiveness of my sins, and I do my best with not committing these and other sins from that point and on in my life. The following Scripture passages help me (they may help you) with living my life as best as I can according to Jesus’s teachings.
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
“He said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all you soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” (Matthew 22:37-39)
“But it shall not be so among you. Rather, whoever wishes to be great among you will be your servant; whoever wishes to be first among you will be the slave of all. For the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:43-45)
Everything I previously mentioned relates to a book which I purchased several years in an airport while I was waiting to board a plane heading to El Salvador for a mission trip. The book is “Learning to Lead Like Jesus – 11 Principles to Help You SERVE, INSPIRE & EQUIP OTHERS” by Boyd Bailey. I highly recommend this book, especially if you are looking to learn more about Jesus Christ and several principles that Jesus lived out as a leader during His three-year ministry on earth. These principles are wonderful in the sense that they can help you and me become better leaders in the many areas of our lives, and at the same time, by implementing these we can become more Christ-like each day. The eleven principles in this book are listed below. Purchase this book if you want to grow closer to Jesus Christ, learn more about Him, and become a better leader in the myriad areas of your life. I believe that Jesus Christ is the leader of all leaders!
