Contemporary Christian Concerts

Anytime that I realize that a contemporary Christian concert is going to take place within two hours of my family home in Morrisville, PA, I take the time to check and see if I can attend a particular concert. On many occasions, I will purchase two tickets (one for me and one for Barb, my wife) and then wait until the concert date gets closer to check and see if we can attend the concert or not. Often, Barb and I attend these concerts together. It is a nice way to spend time on a date. If things do not work out as planned in terms of the two of us attending, then several alternative plans take place. These include my attending the concert with a friend, my attending the concert by myself, giving the tickets to friends, or selling the tickets online.

It seems like these Christian bands travel the United States predominantly in the fall, spring, and summer seasons. Going to these concerts is the highlight of many of my days throughout the year. In the fall this year, I have enjoyed attending the following concerts: Newsboys, Casting Crowns, Anne Wilson. I am looking forward to Danney Gokey and TobyMac. I am sure that there will be more concerts taking place in and around the area where I live this fall and next spring.

In the meantime, the paragraphs below are from my manuscript, which will be published by the end of 2023 or sometime in the first half of 2024. The title of my work is I Went on A Retreat 365 Days in a Row! You can read the “Introduction,” “Prologue,” and “Summary” of my work at YourWillBeDone.Life. A Christian concert at Creation Festival 2017

While at Creation Festival 2017, anyone can attend dozens of concerts throughout the four days. The genre of music played throughout the festival is mainly contemporary Christian music. I have been listening to this type of music for almost twenty years. There are many bands I enjoy listening to, mainly because I like the message that each of these songs is conveying through the lyrics. The lyrics in these songs, where the lyrics are taken from (many from Scripture), and the messages conveyed in these songs are reasons why I enjoy this music. When listening to Christian music, it gives me the opportunity to grow closer to Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. The band that performs at the end of a given day at Creation Festival, usually from 10:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., is called the headliner band. Crowder was this band last night. This evening, it was For King & Country. Check out a few of the lyrics from a song that Crowder performed this evening. What a very powerful and moving song!

Crowder – “Forgiven”

(Lyrics.com)

I’m the one who held the nail

It was cold between my fingertips

I’ve hidden in the garden

I’ve denied You with my very lips

God, I fall down to my knees

With a hammer in my hand

You look at me, arms open

Forgiven, Forgiven

Child there is freedom from all of it

Say goodbye to every sin

You are forgiven
